THON is For The Kids
The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world.
THON weekend involves 708 dancers and more than 15,000 student volunteers. Being a dancer in THON is a position that students don't take lightly: each one is allowed neither to sit nor sleep for the 46 hours of THON weekend, all to show support to the more than 2,000 children the Fund has helped since it began in 1972. THON's partnership with the Fund began in 1977, and has raised more than $88 million during that time.
